A Community Supported Fishery (CSF) helps connect customers directly to local fish farmers. CSF members purchase advance shares of fish to provide a guaranteed market for local fish farms, help build meaningful connections between local farmers and customers, support small farm businesses, and limit the distance food travels. CSF members receive a discount on the products, as well as a guarantee that products will be available throughout the season.
Shares will be available for pick up at the Williamsburg Farmers Market beginning August 13, 2011 and then every two weeks until October 22, 2011. Shares must be picked up or forfeited without prior notification. If you cannot pick up, you must notify Cathy Belcher at vaaquafarmers@ gmail.com 48 hours in advance.

The Virginia Aqua-Farmers Network, a cooperative of small aquaculture farm families in Virginia, supplies Virginia Natural Fish Company channel catfish fillets, dressed rainbow trout, and prawns. These are raised in carefully constructed freshwater ponds. No chemicals are used in or around these ponds. No antibiotics or hormones are used, only high-quality natural feed.
